In fact, Dua was the one who gave the suggestion to focus on the top-line rather than the bottom-line in 2006, when Bajaj was just inches away from dethroning Hero Honda as the market leader. However, that didn’t happen and Bajaj is still second. Hero Honda’s deep penetration in the rural markets has made its entry-level segment the strongest pillar in the company.
